We finally got moved. It was a long, excrutiating process. I am convinced that our government could use moving as punishment for some small crimes.
The drive from Wichita to Houston was the longest drive I have ever been on. Traffic, for a reason I have not yet figured out, was bumper to bumper from Huntsville all the way to Houston. For those that don't know the area, that is a really freakin long way. Oh yeah, and it rained...hard. I am pretty sure cats and dogs were actually falling from the sky.
But when it was all said and done...well...it was done. It's good to be here. The next step is looking for a house.
My first day of work is Wednesday. I will let y'all know how it went.
'Til next time...

Heading home, leaving great memories behind

I am told that this will be my first actual, authentic, true blue blog entry. I had a blog on MySpace that I rarely used and I was told that doesn't count as a real blog. So here's to all of the doubters. To those that said I couldn't do it. Here is my first real posting:
After nearly two years away from family, friends and great Mexican food, I am moving back to Texas. God's Country, as many know, I like to call it. It just so turns out that I am leaving great friends and bad Mexican food behind in Wichita.
In the great cinematic masterpiece known as "Urban Cowboy," the character Pam says, "Houston's the greatest city in the whole wide world." Well, she had better be right because Tara and I are leaving a great bunch of people in Wichita. At The Eagle and outside of work, I was blessed to be surrounded by people who made me feel welcome in a place where I knew absolutely no one.
Moving to Wichita was the best thing we could have done. It helped mold our careers, our relationship and priceless friendships. Wichita will always have a huge place in our hearts, even if the Mexican food left a bad feeling in our stomachs.
